Taxonomy
Osmylopsychops spillerae was named by Tillyard (1923). Its type specimen is GSQI314, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Denmark Hill Insect Bed (Dunstan 1915-1916 collection), which is in a Norian pond siltstone in the Blackstone Formation of Australia.
