Taxonomy
Progonophlebia woodwardi was named by Tillyard (1925). Its type specimen is BMNH I 11241, a forewing (Complete), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Strensham, Worcestershire, which is in a Rhaetian marine horizon in the Lilstock Formation of the United Kingdom.
