Taxonomy
Mesophlebia was named by Tillyard (1916). Its type is Mesophlebia antinodalis. It is the type genus of Mesophlebiidae.
It was assigned to Odonata by Carpenter (1992); to Mesophlebiinae by Bechly (1997); to Triassolestidae by Nel et al. (2002); and to Mesophlebiidae by Tillyard (1922), Tillyard (1923), Cowley (1942), Nel et al. (1993), Nel and Paicheler (1994), Tierney et al. (2020).
