Monticupes surrectus

Taxonomy
Monticupes surrectus was named by Ren (1995). Its type specimen is BL92086/7, an exoskeleton (complete beetle), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Chongqing Reservoir, west hills, Beijing, which is in an Aptian lacustrine mudstone in the Lushangfen Formation of China. It is the type species of Monticupes.

It was recombined as Tetraphalerus surrectus by Soriano and Delclos (2006).
