Epideigma was named by Handlirsch (1911). It is not extant. Its type is Epideigma elegans. It is the type genus of Epideigmatidae.

It was assigned to Epideigmatidae by Handlirsch (1911), Handlirsch (1919), Handlirsch (1922), Carpenter (1992), Béthoux (2007).
