Cymenophlebia was named by Pruvost (1919). It is not extant. It is the type genus of Cymenophlebidae.
It was assigned to Cymenophlebidae by Pruvost (1919); to Epideigmatidae by Carpenter (1992); to Archaeorthoptera by Béthoux (2007); and to Cymenophlebiidae by Handlirsch (1922) and Aristov (2014).
