Taxonomy
Pararachnastraea wilsoni was named by Fedorowski et al. (2007). Its type specimen is LACMIP 7178 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP 6181, Tombstone Mountain, Shasta County, which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the McCloud Formation of California.
