Taxonomy
Diffingia valida was named by Fedorowski (1985). Its type specimen is USNM 197413 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM701, Wolf Camp Hills, Glass Mountains, which is in an Asselian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Neal Ranch Formation of Texas.
