Taxonomy
Caninia trojana was named by Easton (1960). Its type specimen is USC 5104 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USC Loc. 330 - Mokomoke Ridge, which is in an Artinskian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Arcturus Formation of Nevada.
It was recombined as Pseudozaphrentoides trojana by Flügel (1995).
