Taxonomy
Waagenophyllum simplex was named by Wu (1957). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Liangshan, middle Wujiaping (coll 2), 3 km SE of Yan'erwo, Hanzhong County, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Wujiaping Formation of China.
It was recombined as Waagenophyllum (Waagenophyllum) simplex by Minato and Kato (1965), Flügel (1997).
