Pseudopolythecalis attenuseptatum was named by He and Weng (1983). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tuotala Mountain section, Duoma, Rutog, which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the Tunlonggongba Formation of China.
