Taxonomy
Allotropiophyllum hubeiense was named by Xu (1977). Its type specimen is IV 38521 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Changtan River, Maokou Fm, Xuan'en County, which is in a Roadian/Capitanian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Maokou Formation of China.
