Protorhyphus simplex
Taxonomy
Phryganidium simplex was named by Geinitz (1888). Its type specimen is GPI EMAU 120/7, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Dobbertin, Mecklenburg (Greifswald collection), which is in a Toarcian offshore claystone in Germany.
It was recombined as Protorhyphus simplex by Handlirsch (1906), Edwards (1928), Ansorge (1996), Ansorge (2003) and Zhang (2007).
