Proterogomphus renateae
Taxonomy
Proterogomphus renateae was named by Bechly et al. (1998). Its type specimen is Dieter Kumpel 6D, an exoskeleton (Complete specimen missing one wing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Eichstätt, Solnhofen (Jura Museum JME and Kümpel collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.
