Prolaria was named by Healey (1908) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Rhae]. It is not extant. Its type is Prolaria sollasi.
It was assigned to Pholadomyoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Burmesiidae by Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
