Opter brongniartii
Taxonomy
Opter brongniartii was named by Sellards (1909). Its type specimen is Sellards 1286, a wing (basal third), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Elmo, Sellards collection, which is in an Artinskian pond limestone in the Wellington Formation of Kansas. It is the type species of Opter.
It was corrected as Opter brongniarti by Handlirsch (1922), Tillyard (1925), Carpenter (1931).
