Taxonomy
Neostrabops was named by Caster and Macke (1952) [Sepkoski's age data: O Ashg-l]. Its type is Neostrabops martini.

It was assigned to Strabopidae by Størmer (1955); to Merostomata by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cheloniellida by Dunlop and Selden (1988), van Roy (2006), Ortega-Hernández et al. (2010), Lerosey-Aubril et al. (2017).
