Taxonomy
Rekter arcuatus was named by Sellards (1907). It is an impression. Its type locality is Elmo, Sellards collection, which is in an Artinskian pond limestone in the Wellington Formation of Kansas.
It was recombined as Recter arcuatus by Handlirsch (1922); it was recombined as Protereisma arcuatus by Tillyard (1932); it was recombined as Protereisma arcuatum by Carpenter (1933).
