Polystoechotites piperatus

Taxonomy
Polystoechotes piperatus was named by Cockerell (1908). Its type specimen is AMNH 34871, a forewing (incomplete forewing), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant, Station 14, which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

It was recombined as Propsychopsis piperatus by Carpenter (1943); it was recombined as Polystoechotites piperatus by Archibald and Makarkin (2006).
