Taxonomy
Praelocustopsis mirabilis was named by Sharov (1968). Its type specimen is PIN 2010/2, a wing (fore & hindwings), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bugarikta (PIN collection 2010), which is in a Changhsingian terrestrial mudstone in the Bugarikta Formation of the Russian Federation.
