Taxonomy
Parapleurites sibiricus was named by Sharov (1968). Its type specimen is PIN 1487/85, a forewing (forewing without anal region & small part at the base), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Iya Locality (PIN collection 1487), which is in a Toarcian lacustrine - small horizon in the Cheremkhovskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
