Triassomantidae was named by Tillyard (1922). It is not extant. Its type is Triassomantis.

It was corrected as Triassomanteidae by Sharov (1968), Carpenter (1992).

It was assigned to Orthoptera by Tillyard (1922); to Mantodea by Tillyard (1923); to Oedischiidea by Sharov (1968), Whalley (1985); and to Ensifera by Carpenter (1992).
