Jurassobatea was named by Zeuner (1937). It is not extant. Its type is Jurassobatea gryllacroides.

It was assigned to Palaeorehniinae by Zeuner (1937), Zeuner (1939); to Prophalangopsinae by Kevan and Wighton (1983); to Haglidae by Sharov (1968), Carpenter (1992); and to Hagloidea by Gorochov (1995).
