Taxonomy
Wentzelella sicula was named by Montanaro Gallitelli (1954). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pietra di Salomone, which is in a Wordian carbonate limestone in Italy. It is the type species of Wentzelellites.
It was recombined as Wentzelellites sicula by Minato and Kato (1965).
