Palaeopherocera scudderi

Taxonomy
Psilocephala scudderi was named by Cockerell (1909). Its type specimen is AMNH 18860, an exoskeleton (complete fly), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Florissant, Station 14, which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Desmatomyia scudderi by Evenhuis (1990) and Evenhuis and Greathead (1999); it was recombined as Palaeopherocera scudderi by Hauser and Irwin (2005).
