Simulidium priscum
Taxonomy
Simulidium priscum was named by Westwood (1854). Its type specimen is BMNH In. 59266, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Durlston Bay, Middle Purbeck, Swanage (Brodie collection), which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Durlston Formation of the United Kingdom.
