Taxonomy
Anachalcos mfwangani was named by Paulian (1976). Its type specimen is KNMI-MW 112, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mfwangano Island, area B4, which is in a Burdigalian dry floodplain horizon in Kenya.
