Taxonomy
Gerstaeckerella asiatica was named by Novokshonov (1990). Its type specimen is PIN 2783/188, a hindwing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Kzyl-Zhar Locality (PIN collection 2783), which is in a Turonian pond mudstone in Kazakhstan.
