It was assigned to Catantopinae by Zeuner (1941).

Oedipoda imperialis, Oedipoda melanosticta

Synonyms

Oedipoda melanosticta was named by Charpentier (1843). Its type specimen is VGB 73, an exoskeleton (complete body with closed wings), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Radoboj (Grätz Collection), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Zeuner (1941).
Oedipoda imperialis was named by Pongrácz (1928). Its type specimen is VGB 56, an exoskeleton (complete body with closed wings), and it is a compression fossil.
