Taxonomy
Lestes ceresti was named by Nel and Papazian (1985). Its type specimen is MNHN-LP-R 07445, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Céreste (MNHN coll), which is in a MP 23 lacustrine carbonate in the Campagne-Calavon Formation of France.
