Taxonomy
Megasemum ronzonense was named by Maneval (1936). Its type specimen is MNHN-LP-B.21292, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Ronzon, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial lime mudstone in France.
It was recombined as Stenolestes ronzonense by Nel and Papazian (1986), Nel (1986), Nel and Paicheler (1994), Archibald et al. (2021).
