Taxonomy
Epacantha magnifica was named by Martynov (1929). Its type specimen is PIN 2113/8-9, a hindwing (nearly complete male hindwing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Mount Ashutas, river Irtysh (PIN collection 2113), which is in a Chattian terrestrial claystone in Kazakhstan.
It was recombined as Epiaeschna magnifica by Nel and Petrulevičius (2010).
