Jakutus was named by Lermontova (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Boto-l Cm Tojo-u Sepkoski's reference number: 474,522]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Corynexochida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Jakutidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
