Taxonomy
Locustopsis spectabilis was named by Zeuner (1942). Its type specimen is NHM I 10563, a forewing (single folded forewing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Strensham, Worcestershire, which is in a Rhaetian marine horizon in the Lilstock Formation of the United Kingdom.
