Taxonomy
Litophlebia was named by Hubbard and Riek (1978). It is not extant. Its type is Xenophlebia optata. It is the type genus of Litophlebiidae.

It was assigned to Palaeoptera by Carpenter (1992); and to Litophlebiidae by Hubbard and Riek (1978), Willmann (2007), Staniczek et al. (2011).
