Taxonomy
Gryllidium oweni was named by Westwood (1854). It is an impression. Its type locality is Swanage/Purbeck (DORCM/BMNH) [C. Willcox Collection], which is in a Berriasian fluvial-lacustrine limestone in the United Kingdom.
It was synonymized subjectively with Blattidium simyrus by Scudder (1886); it was recombined as Chresmoda oweni by Handlirsch (1906), Martynov (1928).
