Dudleyaspis was named by Prantl and Pribyl (1949) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl-l D Emsi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1106]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Acidaspidinae by Ramsköld and Chatterton (1991); to Odontopleurida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Odontopleuridae by Whittington (1956), Jell and Adrain (2002).
