Taxonomy
Cladochonus verrucatus was named by Niko (2001). Its type specimen is HMM 04078 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mizubora-dani Valley, Fukuji area, Gifu Prefecture, which is in a Sakmarian marine shale in the Mizuyagadani Formation of Japan.
