Dakotornis cooperi
Taxonomy
Dakotornis cooperi was named by Erickson (1975). Its type specimen is SMM P74.24.106, a limb element (Complete right humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wannagan Creek Quarry, which is in a Tiffanian mire/swamp shale/shale in the Bullion Creek Formation of North Dakota.
