Taxonomy
Epilestes gallica was named by Nel et al. (1999). Its type specimen is Ld LAP 110, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is F23, Les Canals, Lodève Basin, which is in a Kungurian pond claystone/siltstone in the Salagou Formation of France.
