Mastotermes haidingeri
Taxonomy
Termes (Termopsis) haidingeri was named by Heer (1849). Its type specimen is NHMW 1844/XI/14, an exoskeleton (complete termite), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Radoboj (NHMW Wien Collection), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia.
It was recombined as Hodotermes haidingeri by Hagen (1858); it was recombined as Mastotermes haidingeri by Pongrácz (1928), Emerson (1933), Snyder (1949), Emerson (1965), Nel and Paicheler (1993), Krishna et al. (2013).
