Blattotermes wheeleri

Taxonomy
Mastotermes wheeleri was named by Collins (1925). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Illinois Central Railroad, Grand Junction, which is in an Eocene terrestrial claystone in the Wilcox Formation of Tennessee.

It was recombined as Blattotermes wheeleri by Riek (1952), Pierce (1958), Emerson (1965), Nel and Paicheler (1993), Fontes and Vulcano (1998), Wappler and Engel (2006), Krishna et al. (2013).
