Taxonomy
Waagenophyllum (Waagenophyllum) ciliense was named by Shen et al. (1998). Its type specimen is CCP-5-2 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shuanglongquan, Kangjiaping, Cili County, which is in a Changhsingian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Changxing Formation of China.
