Taxonomy
Permelmoa magnifica was named by Prokop and Nel (2011). Its type specimen is LdLAP 365ab, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is F34, Les Vignasses, Lodève basin, which is in an Artinskian pond claystone/siltstone in the Salagou Formation of France. It is the type species of Permelmoa.
