Kaikaifilusaurus calvoi

Taxonomy

Kaikaifilusaurus calvoi was named by Simon and Kellner (2003). Its type specimen is MPCHv 4, a mandible (left lower jaw, lacking the posterior region), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Araceli, on Bustingorry farm, which is in a Cenomanian fluvial sandstone/conglomerate in the Candeleros Formation of Argentina.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Apesteguia and Carballido (2014).

S. Apesteguía and F. E. Novas 2003 (Priosphenodon avelasi)	Priosphenodon differs from other sphenodontians in the following combination of features: robust skeleton with adult up to 1m long; single, sharp, beak-like structure on the rostral end of the skull; bulging nasals; frontals rostrally straight; jugals dorsoventrally deep; suborbital fenestrae closed by transversely oriented ectopterygoids; maxillary and palatine tooth rows elongate, straight and in parallel; palatal roof narrow; teeth closely packed, with imbricate labial and lingual flanges; no caniniform teeth and no dental regionalization; and square, distally expanded unguals.
