Taxonomy
Vitisma orientalis was named by Vršanský (2005). Its type specimen is PIN 4306/185(188), a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Sharin-Gol (bed 350/6), which is in a Barremian terrestrial horizon in the Sharin-Gol Formation of Mongolia.
