Bynumina was named by Resser (1942) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Fran-l Cm Trep-u Sepkoski's reference number: 486,1054]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Kingstoniidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
