Taxonomy
Archizelmira baissa was named by Grimaldi et al. (2003). Its type specimen is PIN 3064/9039, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Baissa (PIN collection 3064), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large marl in the Zaza Formation of the Russian Federation.
