Promastacoides was named by Kevan and Wighton (1981). It is not extant. Its type is Promastacoides albertae.
It was assigned to Promastacidae by Kevan and Wighton (1981) and Eades et al. (2012); and to Susumaniinae by Gorochov (1995), Gorochov (2000) and Xu et al. (2020).
