Taxonomy
Necracantha proxima was named by Martynov (1929). Its type specimen is PIN 1709/134, a wing (fore & hindwing missing bases), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Mount Ashutas, river Irtysh (PIN collection 1709), which is in a Chattian terrestrial claystone in Kazakhstan.
